At what point…

will the people who make and pass laws in this country sit down with one another and think about those they serve instead of themselves and the people who pay for their campaigns? I don’t want to hear about the how and why’s when it comes to this sort of thing. I don’t care about the motives of the individuals who did it, nor do I care about what drove them to it in the first place. I don’t care about the excuses that will inevitably come from the right and the left of the political spectrum. It means about as much to me as it does to all of those families, all of those parents who were robbed of what was, and to the kids who were robbed of what could have been.  20 children…CHILDREN, were murdered today. Children die every day in this world, yes, its tragic regardless of where in the world it happens in or who it happens to. But, in a land where something could have been done about it long ago, in this supposed “civilized” country where this kind of thing isn’t supposed to happen, exactly WHAT will it take before those who actually have the power to act, to protect even the most innocent of us…actually do so?
